I think I'm going to see if I can't code up a layout with a custom comment page that looks and works like the old default style. Give me a few hours to see what I can come up with.

Reason #1: new header and layout! - Because I'd had the old one, what? Six weeks? At least? Obvs it had to go because it was old and stale.

Reason #2: random writings of a shameless fangirl - Yes, I finally went ahead and did that fic journal thing.

Reason #3: It's boring!

Did you know that you could replace one img src with another using nothing but css?

I did not know this.

Now I do. And now I no longer have ugly ass icons that don't match the rest of my layout. :D

The original version of this layout was a total loss, which bothers me, because I thought it was absolutely amazing. But it actually makes sense, when you think about it. It was created for insanejournal, not LJ, and it had the custom comments pages disabled. I spent hours digging through that code trying to fix it, and declared it a lost cause ( Read more... )

I just kinda thought, hey... I need to do something for Valentine's Day.

And then I kinda thought, hey... you haven't really gotten your hands dirty with any LJ design in quite a while.

And then I kinda thought, hey... Tony and Ziva are so doin' it. :P

And this is the result.

I am totally in love with the first new style I had, but it worked like shit. So I'm going to have to rewrite it from the ground up to make it work the way it needs to.

So in the meantime, have some really basic Winchester loveliness to stare at. :)
